This special item was hand knit by a group of women in Nakuru village in Kenya where the mission is to provide jobs and job training for women. An area with unemployment rates as high as 40%, many of the women have been widowed by the aids epidemic, thus becoming the sole source of income for their families. This project pays the women above average wage and provides them with free meals.
